2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This game has been out already for quite some time now but it still doesn't get old. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the newest installment of the Call of Duty FPS franchise that sports a newer, more modern look. Say goodbye to World War 2 and hello to present day warfare. In this game, you can do story mode and play the likes of US Marines or British SAS operatives. Once you complete the relatively easy story mode, you can challenge yourself by playing on arcade mode or playing against your friends through LAN. One thing's for sure though, this game is awesome. Prepare to be firing a lot of rounds and fragging a lot of NPCs or PCs.

3. Gears of War

This game means serious business. This is by far one of the most popular shooting games ever developed and it has got its latest installment, Gears of War 2, coming pretty soon. Now who wouldn't want to play the role of a post-apocalyptic freedom fighter that is fighting in the name of the survival of the human race? If awesomeness were measured at a scale of one to ten, this game would easily pass as a twelve. This game is that good and that entertaining. If you haven't picked this game up yet, you better do it quick before you fall behind on the storyline for Gears of War 2.
