Which Video Game Console Should You Get For Your Children?
It's a brave new world out there. Kids these days seem to be a lot luckier than the previous generations before them. More and more toys keep on getting better, especially in the field of video games.
Most of us would be proud to say that we grew up in a time of Mario, Mrs. Pac man, and Donkey Kong. These were the early stages of what is now taking the world by storm. The world has recognized it so much that there is already an annual event celebrating the most talented individuals in specific videogames, the World Cyber Games.
People before used to play in moderation because these games were entirely created on the impression that this was meant for entertainment. But in today's generation, it's already considered a sport; a sport with an already HUGE fan base and an even bigger pool of talented coaches and gamers.
There have been major developments in the consoles that enable such popular and addictive games to be played. There are perhaps three big names out on the market today; and they are the playstation3 or PS3, The Xbox 360 and of course, the Nintendo Wii. All consoles are proving to be the really awesome in their own right and all of them are vying for the biggest take on market shares.
1. The Sony playstation3
Sony has dazzled us with a barrage of gaming consoles that has made children everywhere stuck to their TV sets with their hands clutching controllers tighter than an anaconda's grip. The playstation3, Sony's latest development, is by far perhaps the most powerful and most advanced console in the market today bragging of technologies like CEL and Blu ray. Its controller is maybe the most comfortable one to use among all three consoles. And with the introduction of SIXAXIS to their motion based controls, it looks like there's going to be nothing but blue skies ahead for the Sony Playstation3. To top all of this off, exciting titles like Metal Gear Solid 4 and many others differing in genres are going to be released pretty soon.
2. Microsoft's Xbox 360
Who could ever forget about Halo and the joy it has brought to the millions of trigger happy fans around the world. The Xbox 360 is the response of Microsoft against Sony's Playstation3 in the race for market share dominance around the world. By far, in terms of game releases and graphics quality, this console can stand its ground and duke it out pound for pound against the PS3. With games being released in multiple consoles, this evens out the playing field for Xbox 360 against the PS3.
3. The Nintendo Wii
But of course how could we ever forget about the Nintendo Wii, the game console that was first thought out to be the underdog that was set to give way to the two giants that is the Xbox 360 and the PS3. But this resilient little console, though inferior in graphics compared to it's two counterparts, has proven to the world that gamers old and young alike aren't just playing games for their flashy graphics and all. The Nintendo Wii has been adored by parents and their children around the world for its role in becoming an unlikely hero to combat obesity and laziness.
